Lucy Younger
AMBASSADOR

A journalist based in Southeast London, Lucy focuses on real-life and entertainment news. During her second year of studying English Literature and Language, Lucy was diagnosed with a rare benign brain tumour. Faced with the reality that she might not live to see her 25th birthday without undergoing neurosurgery, she bravely decided to proceed with a craniotomy. After taking a year away from studies and life to recover, Lucy returned to London, completed her degree, and pursued a master’s degree. However, just as she neared the end of her master’s, she received a second cancer diagnosis, this time in the thyroid. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, necessitating two surgeries, and she is currently awaiting radio-iodine therapy. Having been diagnosed with two tumours in her early 20s, Lucy is deeply passionate about raising awareness of cancer in young people, particularly highlighting the importance of recognising signs and symptoms.

This mission is reflected not only in their journalism but also in the work they do beyond the profession. With a strong belief that cancer does not discriminate, Lucy is dedicated to raising awareness and helping others join the fight against cancer.
